Children visiting the CRP holding handmade pillows and bean bags

Developmental Disabilities Institute’s Children’s Residential Program (DDI's-CRP) was welcomed last week by students from the Commack School District. They came with their arms full of handmade pillows and bean bags for the children in the CRP.

The gifts were finished with colorful, soft fleece and fluffy fur and, of course, stuffed with love. Also included was a certificate that read “From Our Hearts to Yours,” which was the perfect sentiment for their kindness.

The Commack students wanted to deliver the items personally, so they, along with their parents and teachers, came to the Smithtown Campus with the special delivery. The smiles and giggles of happiness were seen and heard throughout the room as the children picked out their favorite pillow or bean bag.

It was an absolute pleasure welcoming our visitors from the Commack School District and “from our hearts to yours” – we thank you for your thoughtfulness and caring support for the CRP.
